PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO APPLY.

YOU MUST AGREE TO ALL OF THE PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS OTHERWISE DO NOT APPLY:

The Applicant must:

*Be a US citizen and have a current, unexpired passport
*Have proof of Purple Heart status

*Sign a waiver and a 'participation' and 'hold harmless' agreement

*Submit to a medical screening and provide medical records, if necessary

*Not have a serious PTSD/TBI condition or any addictive behavior including alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc. - a medical interview will be conducted

*Be ambulatory, able to travel, wheelchairs are OK

*Provide a list of current medications
*Agree to name and photos being used by The Combat-Wounded Cruise
*Provide at least 2 service photos and 2 recent photos upon selection
*Provide own transportation to/from Port of Departure
*Have a credit card for on board purchases (Carnival requirement)

PARTICIPATION EXPECTATIONS:

*You MUST attend and participate in all 'official' or mandatory events on board

*You MUST follow the guidance and direction of PHC Staff and Team Leaders

*You MUST attend all Seminar Classes, Group Dinners, Photo Sessions, CWC hosted events and Carnival hosted veteran events on board.

*Your spouses are HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to attend the Spouses Seminar.

*You WILL reimburse CWC $1500 if you are a NO-SHOW

SELECTION CRITERIA:(review of applications starts MARCH 1st, 2024 and notifications will be emailed upon approval)

Selection of applicants will be made by a committee of Board Members.

CWC desires applicants from the:

Different services - Different parts of the country - Different categories.

So, being the first to apply doesn't guarantee selection - but the first to apply will be the first considered.

The application period will CLOSE once CWC receives the maximum number of requests.

CATEGORIES:

There are limits to each category for applicants:

PHR = Purple Heart Recipient

Category 1.CLOSED PHR who requires an ADA CABIN, who depends on a caregiver or spouse, and cannot adequately function or travel without one.

CWC will fund 2 travelers.

Category 2. CLOSED PHR who will be traveling with a caregiver or spouse.

CWC will fund 2 travelers.

Category 3. CLOSED PHR traveling with a spouse & 1 or 2 children (under 10 years)

who cannot be left ashore, sharing 1 cabin.

CWC will fund the family.

Category 4. CLOSED PHR traveling solo who will bunk with another solo PHR.

CWC will fund both PHRs.

Category 5. CLOSED Non-PHR who suffered injuries due to non-hostile event, such

as a training accident or an aircraft mishap, etc. Evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

CWC will fund 2 travelers.

Category 6. CLOSED TEAM LEADERS: PHR who has sailed on a previous Combat-Wounded Cruise. ONLY 2 POSITIONS AVAILABLE!

PHR can EXPECT to work with specific duties and responsibilities.

CWC will fund the PHR and spouse.

*Duties include serving as a team leader for up to 10 wounded warriors and assisting as necessary on board. Must attend all official, mandatory and optional events.

Please understand, the awarding of cruises is limited to the funding available.

We feel that all Purple Heart Warriors deserve to be acknowledged for their sacrifice

no matter the degree of their injury and we regret we cannot fund each request. We applaud those who were fortunate enough to move beyond their pain and suffering to become success stories in their own right.

Extended family members, alumni, friends, donors and supporters are welcomed to

sail with us at special group rates and participate in most group events.
